About the Chef


Cook & Container was founded by Chef Josh, a classically trained chef with more than a decade of experience in professional kitchens across Kansas City, Denver, New York City, and Nashville. His philosophy is rooted in using fresh, seasonal ingredients to create meals that are both wholesome and approachable. With a passion for health and fitness, Josh understands the importance of fueling the body well — and he recognized the need for a service that helps busy people avoid the pitfalls of fast food without overspending. Cook & Container delivers nutritious, satisfying meals designed to support both well-being and wallet.

FAQ

What are the serving sizes?

Single servings on all meals is approximately 10oz of food, which always includes 6oz of protein.
Salad weight will vary depending on the ingredients, but will always be a full single serving portion.
Soups will be either 8oz or 16oz, based on choice.
Family meals will be measure to be approximately 4-5 single servings.

What is the best way to reheat my meals?

The meals are designed to pop in the microwave to reheat. Generally, heating for 2 mins is sufficient, but please check to ensure that the food is heated all the way through before eating.
Our containers are microwave safe, but if you choose to use the oven or stovetop to reheat your meals, please move the food to a more appropriate container to do so.

Although Chef will always ensure that your food is cooked properly before you receive your meals - for safety, we always recommend that you reheat meat/protein to the proper internal temperature as listed below.
Chicken - internal temp of 165 F.
Pork - internal temp of 145 - 160 F
Lamb - internal temp of 145 F
Fish - internal temp of 145 F

Reminder: *CONSUMING RAW OR UNDERCOOKED MEATS, POULTRY, SEAFOOD, SHELLFISH, OR EGGS MAY INCREASE YOUR RISK OF FOODBORNE ILLNESS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CERTAIN MEDICAL CONDITIONS.

How are my meals packed?

Meals are packaged in microwave safe, reusable lidded containers.
During delivery, meals are kept in a cooler and will be delivered in a bag, to be handed off to the customer.

Meals should be refrigerated within 2 hours of delivery.

What do I do with my containers?

Our containers are reusable, microwave & dishwasher safe (top-rack). If you want to keep them and reuse them, they're yours to do so!

If you want to return them to us, we will wash, sanitize and reuse them.
Just wash or rinse them thoroughly and leave them for us at your next delivery.

We will also reward you for returning them - 1 loyalty point per container (& lid) returned. You will see points reflected in your account with 72 hours.

What if I'm not home for delivery?

If you know you won't be able to come to the door or you won't be home during your delivery window, we recommend leaving a cooler or one of our insulated cooler bags, with an ice pack in it, at the front door and we will leave all meals in there!

What about those with food allergies or diet restrictions?

We list all ingredients on the product page, for those who may have any major food allergies. On the "On The Menu" page, you can also filter by Allergy as we have tagged all products by the major allergies that occur in each product.

We do not provide custom meals or substitutions of ingredients. Our meals are thoughtfully crafted so that all ingredients flow well together and provide a tasteful experience for the customer.
However, we also understand not everyone likes or can have all ingredients that we include and that is okay, some meals may not be for everyone!
